Fairwinds Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Fairwinds game for Meta Quest, sold on the Meta Horizon Store. It is published by Dot Ave Developments ("we", "us"). Contact: fairwinds@dotavedev.com.
1. The short version
- Fairwinds is played offline. Your runs, your local leaderboard and your settings are saved only on your headset, and we receive none of it.
- We do not collect your name, email address, voice, camera or passthrough images, room layout, or head, hand, body, face or eye tracking data.
- We do not sell data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics services.
2. What the game keeps on your headset
The game saves these on your headset only: the run files of your races (the boat's controls and its position and heading, used to replay your ghost), your local leaderboard, and your comfort and game settings. They never leave your headset. Uninstalling the game deletes them.
A run file holds the game's control values (for example "rudder 12 degrees to port"), not your head or hand positions, even when you steer with hand tracking.
3. What Meta receives
When the game starts, it asks Meta whether your Meta account owns the game; we receive only the answer. The Meta software built into the game (the Meta XR SDK) can also report technical events to Meta, such as that the VR system started, with an identifier for the game and your headset's processor type. We have turned off every part of this that Meta lets a game turn off; the rest Meta treats as needed for its software to work. We do not receive any of it. Meta's own policy covers it: Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy.
4. If you email us
We use your email address and what you write only to answer you, and delete the conversation within 12 months of our last reply. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
5. Children
Fairwinds is for teens and adults (13+) and is not directed at children under 13. The game does not collect personal data from anyone.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to see, correct or delete personal data about you, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because the game keeps your data on your headset only, you can delete it yourself by uninstalling the game. For anything else, email fairwinds@dotavedev.com and we will answer without undue delay.
7. Changes
If we add online features, such as online leaderboards, we will update this policy before they go live, and the game will ask you before it uploads anything. We post every change on this page and update the date at the top.
